Clay Ceramics
Juju ceramics and Johanna Baudou, collaborated together while studying at Central Saint Martins, after years of friendship, they have decided to revive their collaboration by creating unique ceramic works of art.
Their work is like a ballet with two heads, hearts and hands connected as one, transforming the clay according to their inspiration, which often arises in connection with Johanna's pictorial works. Their sensitivity to material and colours results in the creation of elaborate and original vessels.
Folkestone based ceramicist, Jules Degroot in collaboration with Johanna Baudou produced the collection “The body as Horizon” based upon the intense dialogue between the shape of the ceramic, it’s feminine curves and it’s expansion into landscape. Jules Degroot uses a free play technique of allowing hands to mould shapes with the clay without a sense of preconceived direction, Johanna Baudou adds to these shapes a free style drawing, lines and colours that merges into the sensuality of the piece.
